HOTEL MARKET
Over the years, Ostrava has transformed into an attractive destination that welcomes hundreds of thousands of visitors annually — drawn by music, sports, culture, and business. However, the city’s accommodation capacity remains insufficient. Ostrava is therefore seeking to expand its hotel market to meet growing demand, particularly during major sporting events and summer music festivals.
The city currently lacks a five-star hotel, and the capacity of existing four-star hotels is limited. Ostrava also does not have a hotel with large congress facilities that could provide a suitable venue for professional conferences — over 900 of which are held in the city each year. Ostrava offers significant potential for at least a three-star hotel catering to visitors seeking quality at an affordable price, a stylish hotel, or a four-star design/boutique hotel offering a unique accommodation experience.
The city has identified several strategic plots of land for hotel construction and is actively seeking partners and investors to expand its accommodation capacity.

Strategic Plots for Hotel Development
One of the key sites is located in the Poruba district on Martinovská Street. This area is particularly attractive due to its size, proximity to sports and university facilities, and excellent transport accessibility — it lies directly on one of Ostrava’s main traffic arteries and near the D1 motorway.
A hotel built in this location could distinguish itself by offering “added value” such as health, longevity, or wellness programmes. Such services could appeal to both tourists and business travellers and encourage longer stays in the city.
The hotel should provide at least 150 rooms, a conference hall, a restaurant, and underground parking proportional to its capacity.
While this site is very attractive, the most lucrative plots are undoubtedly located in the city centre, specifically in the Spilka area and on Masaryk Square.
