THE VŠB TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY OF OSTRAVA
A university with a STEM focus, offering studies at seven faculties. The university supports and is involved in dozens of programmes helping to optimize conditions for growth and innovation. It collaborates actively with a wide range of top scientists and researchers from the Czech Republic and other countries. The university has a long tradition, having been established in 1849.

Established in 1991, the University of Ostrava’s mission was to expand the region’s higher education sector by offering a range of studies in humanities and social sciences. The number of faculties continues to grow, and the university now offers state-of-the-art modern facilities in many other fields; the youngest of the university’s faculties is the Faculty of Medicine. The university plays a key role in Ostrava’s cultural and community life.

The Pan-European University is a private university with two faculties – the Faculty of Business and the Faculty of Entrepreneurship and Law. It offers studies at Bachelor’s, Master’s and doctoral levels. With its local branch based in Ostrava’s Michálkovice district, it is the city’s youngest university. There is a strong focus on graduates’ language skills.

Investment incentives
Investors in the Czech Republic may apply for support in the form of investment incentives. Eligible recipients are legal entities from the Czech Republic or abroad with their registered address in the Czech Republic. The legislative framework governing investment incentives is Act no. 72/2000.
